BLADE

 

Blade is a 1998 film starring Wesley Snipes and Stephen Dorff.

The film is based on the Marvel comics and is based around the idea of vampires being real things in the world. Snipes stars as Blade who is half human half vampire or as they call him "DAYWALKER". The film is mainly about Blade trying to defeat vampires and also stop Deacon Frost (Dorff) and his plan to be the number one vampire and rule over all humans.

 

At the time the film was released it was very gorey and graphic with people being killed but nowadays it seems very average compared with other films. The fight scenes are awesome and the story progresses from finding out who blade is and how he became what he is. Towards the end of the film we find out that Frost was the one who turned Blades mother into a vampire and he decides to get revenge by killing Frost.

 

However this was not the end of the film as we find out their is to be a sequal. At the end of the film Blade goes to Russia and finds one of Frosts minions who tells him bigger things are about to happen.

 

 

The film is about 14 years old now but i still think it is a great film. Snipes and Dorff give great performances and the fight scenes are great.

 

I'd advise anyone who hasn't ever seen it to watch it.

MR DEEDS

 

Mr Deeds Is a 2002 film in which Adam Sandler plays the lead character Long Fellow Deeds. He is the heir to a 40 billion Dollar fortune and when asked to travel to New York until the deal is sorted. A number of things unfold for him. While in New York he meets the Hilarious butler Emelio played by John Tutturro and they become friends. While other people just want to put him down and make him feel small.

 

The film is more than a comedy it is a heart felt story and Deeds falls in love with a news reporter who is trying to make a fool out of him for there story. It seems like everyone is against him until she falls in love with him. His love interest is played by Winona Ryder and there is also a number of other great actors in this film.

 

Towards the end of the film Deeds go's back to his town of Mandrake Falls and go's back to life as normal until he realises he must stop the executives from ruining the company he inherited.  When he turns up he manages to persuade everyone that it is the wrong thing to do and we find out that the hilarious Emilio is actually the rightful heir to the money. The film then ends happilly.

 

The film is hilarious with many funny scenes including the scene where Sandler is singing in the helicopter. and also the sneakiness of Emelio.

 

This is one of my favourite films of all time. Below i will put the singing helicopter scene in.

 



 



TAKEN 2

Liam Neeson returns in the sequal to 2009's hit Taken in Taken 2. The film is set a year after the first and Bryan (Neeson) is still very protective of his daughter after being Taken in the first film. At the start of the film we see that the families of the people he killed want him dead and plan to take him and his family and kill them.

 

The main story is set in Instanbul where Neeson's character is working and when his family come out for a holiday it suddenly turns into action and they must run to escape the people who are after them.  Bryan and his wife are taken and it is up to his daughter to save them. It is a race against time to save them and then Neeson does what he does best as the action hero and fights and kills the people who are after him for trying to attack him and his family.

The film is much like the first with fight scenes and chases but it seems to be dummbed down a bit with its 12A rating with many parts of the film being chopped and changed quickly at certain points. 

It is a decent follow up to the first Taken film with great fight scenes and Neeson back as the lead but i think it was real let down with the 12A rating as if it was more aimed at teenagers rather than adults. it is a better sequal than most other films though.

 

I would go see it again. 

Review on The Watch

THE WATCH

 

 

THE WATCH stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade. They star as four people who live in the same town and after someone is murdered they decide to start a neighbourhood watch group after the police don't take them seriously.

 

 

At first they are laughed at a lot until they find a machine which can destroy anything and they find this out when they destroy a cow.  They later realise it is alien technology and what killed there friend was really an alien which takes over peoples bodies. They find the alien and take it home where they party and take photos with it in funny scenes until it wakes up destroys the place and runs away. Towards the end of the film they realise that their is a major alien spaceship under the massive COSTCO and the four of them must try everything to save their town and the whole world from being destoyed.

 

 

I really enjoyed the film. It has some of the funniest actors around and the story is also very funny. It is full of action and comedy and i think everyone would like it. The only thing i don't like is the start as it seems to drag on but the ending and endless jokes make up for it.

 

Brilliant movie.
