Batman 1989

BATMAN

 

The 1989 version of Batman was directed by Tim Burton and starred Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton. The story follows along the lines of the comic book where batman protects the streets of Gotham City. The Joker being one of the comics most famous character who is also my favourite, takes centre stage as the nemisis of Batman.

 

The film shows how the Joker becomes who he is as Nicholsons character fights with Batman he loses his grip of a railing and falls into a pool of toxic chemicals. Presumed dead Napier (Nicholson) is forgotten about until he turns back up but this time he looks more like a sadistic clown who wants nothing more than revenge on who made him who he is. It changes the film and makes it a little darker.

 

The film then turns too the fight between Batman and The Joker as he continues to wreak havok on Gotham killing people with nerve gas which turn there faces to his. Alot of the film centres on the seperate characters but what i always find great about the film is the scenes they have together. In my opinion it was the perfect casting for both and even seeing this film at a young age it is still one of my favourites today.

 

At the time the fight scenes were modern and also alot of effort was put into creating sets and also the veichels used in the movie.

 

I love the Batman films but i think the original from 1989 is one of the best and i urge everyone to watch it whether a fan or not.

Click stars Adam Sandler as a man who's busy lifestyle makes him wish he had more time to enjoy his life and skip parts he can't be bothered with. At that point in comes the universal remote but pausing and skipping parts of his life come at a price as the remote begins to inhibit his behaviour.

 

The film shows Sandler his life if he keeps going with the hard working life he has. It will cause him to have a heart attack and lose everything he worked for including his marriage and family. The story is great and also being a comedy it is also a drama. The movie has some great actors including Sandler and just gives the film that extra little bit of class.

 

In my opinion any Adam Sandler film is great but i think Click is one of his best comedy performances as an actor. Many of the scenes have you in stitches as he learns the ropes of the remote, but towards the end i feel sorry for his character. I think that just shows how much the film can change and how Sandler is as an actor.

 

I urge anyone who hasn't seen Click to watch it.
